1. Definitions and Interpretations

  • Breach: failure by a Party to a contract to comply with one or more conditions of the contract.

  • Entire Agreement: this written agreement is the complete understanding between the Parties.
  • GCSE: General Certificate of Secondary Education.
  • Intellectual Property Rights: includes copyrights, patents, trade secrets, trademarks, and all similar rights.
  • Parties: refers to the contract between you and FakeDoor Unipessoal Lda.
  • Personal Data: any information related to a natural person that can be used directly or indirectly to identify this person.
  • The Service: FakeDoor provides an immersive science education platform to help GCSE students prepare for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • Your Obligations: by using the Service, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Using the Service

2.1 Age Restrictions

Children under the age of 13 (or the minimum legal age for consent in their country) cannot access or use the Service. Those above 13 may use the Service only with explicit consent from a parent or guardian.

2.2 Parents and Legal Guardians

If you allow a child to use the Service, you are responsible for ensuring they comply with these Terms. FakeDoor may verify your identity, but it is not obligated to do so.

2.3 Access to the Service

FakeDoor grants a non-exclusive, limited, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal use. Each user must have a unique account, and users are responsible for activities conducted through their accounts.

2.4 Your Use of the Service

Usage rights are limited to personal use for the subscription duration. Users may not modify materials or use content for commercial purposes or machine learning without proper licensing.

2.5 Restrictions on Your Use of the Service

You are prohibited from:

  • Renting, selling, or sublicensing the Service to third parties.
  • Reverse-engineering, modifying, or decompiling the Service software.
  • Accessing the Service to build a competing product.
  • Scraping or data mining for machine learning purposes.
  • Bypassing security measures.

2.6 Content and Materials

FakeDoor is not endorsed by the exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR). All materials are created by accredited teachers and aligned with the syllabus.

3. Payments and Subscriptions

3.1 Subscriptions and Renewals

Subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly or annual basis. Cancellations do not guarantee a refund for charges already made.

3.2 Taxes

Subscription fees include taxes unless specified otherwise. Tax rates depend on your billing information.

3.3 Free Trials

Free trials provide limited access to the platform. Full content access requires a paid subscription.

3.4 Changes to Pricing

FakeDoor reserves the right to change subscription fees with immediate effect.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

4.1 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription via your account settings. Refunds are not guaranteed after the first 14 days of payment.

4.2 Cooling-off Period

If you cancel within 14 days of the first payment and have accessed less than 25% of the content, you are eligible for a full refund.

4.3 Refunds

Refunds will be processed using the original payment method. Partial subscription periods are not eligible for refunds or credits.

5. Privacy and Security

5.1 Information Security

FakeDoor employs strong security measures to safeguard user data. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login information.

5.2 Login Information

FakeDoor does not verify user identities and is not responsible for unauthorised use of login credentials. Users should report any unauthorised access immediately.

5.3 Data Transfers

FakeDoor will not share personal data with third parties without consent, except when required by law.

5.4 Data Privacy

By creating a FakeDoor account, you agree to our data processing practices as outlined in the Privacy Notice.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Service Content

All intellectual property on the Service belongs to FakeDoor. Users assign any feedback or suggestions to FakeDoor.

6.2 Trademarks

Users may not use FakeDoor's trademarks without written consent.

6.3 Acceptable User Behaviour

FakeDoor may link to third-party websites, but does not endorse or take responsibility for their content or services.

8. Warranties

The Service is provided “as-is,” without warranty regarding completeness, accuracy, or suitability for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

FakeDoor is not liable for non-material breaches or user performance, accidents with experiments, or exam results.

10. Term and Termination

10.1 Term

These Terms take effect when you first access the Service and remain in force until subscription expiration or termination.

10.2 Termination for Convenience

FakeDoor may terminate the Service at any time and will refund unused prepaid fees in such cases.

10.3 Termination for Breach

Either party may terminate the Service for breach, and users will not be refunded if their subscription is terminated due to violation.

10.4 Effects of Termination

After termination, users must cease using the Service, and FakeDoor may take action to protect its rights.
