Q1.  
What are the system requirements for using the platform?
You can use the FakeDoor platform on any device. However, as we have a lot of 3D models we recommend a good internet connection. Otherwise, it might take more time to interact with the lessons.

Is the platform mobile-friendly, or is the app available?
The platform is mobile-friendly. We don’t have the FakeDoor app yet.

Are there any tutorials on how to navigate the platform?
Currently, we don’t have the tutorials. However, for now our platform is built to use without any tutorials.
The interactive guide will be coming soon.

Do I need to know anything about the topics before using the platform?
The platform is tailored for students without any science background. You can start using the platform at any level.

How do interactive experiences work?
Each topic is made interactive using Unity software. You don’t need to download additional programs to access the lessons and play with the models. When you choose the lesson and the 3D model downloads, you can click on the objects and see animations explaining the chosen topic.

Can students track their progress?
In the overview and progress section, you can find your time spent on the platform, average test results as well as the number of topics completed. The feature will be coming soon.

What age do I have to be to use the platform?
When you sign up for the platform, you have provided the date of birth. The age of consent will vary depending on what country you have chosen. If you are below the age of consent, an automatic pop-up will ask you to email your legal guardians/parents to authorise your access to the platform.

How do you protect personal information on the platform?
At the moment of your account creation, your password is hashed using a SHA256 algorithm before it is sent to our servers. This means that no one - not even FakeDoor - can see your chosen password. Data is encrypted in transit using SSL, and when it reaches our servers, your password is hashed once more, this time using SHA512 and a unique salt. In practice, this means that if an attacker were to try to crack your password, they would need to hash every attempt twice: first, using a predefined and constant salt (secret, shared across all users), and then hash it once more using a unique salt that belongs to you alone (they would also need to guess what the salt is). This does not mean that your password is impossible to crack - you should still follow the basic password guidelines of using at least 13 characters and having upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters - but it is significantly more time-consuming and expensive for a hacker to try to crack your password. Once the data arrives on our servers, it is stored in a secure database with appropriately defined security measures and safeguards. The servers themselves are also secured with state-of-the-art technologies and follow the good practices of information security.

What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription or delete my account?
When you cancel your subscription, your account will remain active, and your data stored on our servers until either you choose to delete the account or the account remains inactive for over 1 year, at which point we will alert you and, if there is no action on your side, we will permanently delete your account. If you choose to delete your account, all of your personal data will be removed from our databases, and we will only keep statistical data regarding your usage of the platform, such as how many hours per week you have studied and on what topics. This data is stored in an anonymised format, and from this point onward, it will be impossible to associate this data with your personal identity in any way. This process is irreversible.
